R-I Residential and C-I Commercial Training and Certification    $290.00

Concentrated hands-on, skills training and knowledge for the entry-level flooring installers with certification awarded if the requirements of this level are achieved and installers pass the written test.  Assistance is given and all skills are assessed and new ideas offered to achieve satisfaction and pride.

Residential R-II and Commercial C I-II Certification          $290 per level   

Entry level and advanced installation certification.  No assistance is provided other than the Advanced CFI Study Guide.  However, courses are available at the hosting site to prepare the installers for this test.  It is a two-day course, but has been shortened to 1-day for those who do not have the additional time. All of the materials are not covered in the one-day course.  However, courses can be developed online that would assist in successful completion of the course.

Direct-Glue Proven Installation Methods of Installation Workshop 
  • Addresses preparation, installation and problem solving techniques - 1 day
  • CFI has prepared the CFI Proven Methods of Installation for Direct-Glue by which the workshop is structured.

 

Double-Glue Proven Installation Methods of Installation Workshop 
  • Addresses preparation, installation and problem solving techniques – 1 day
  • CFI has prepared the CFI Proven Methods of Installation for Double-Glue by which the workshop is structured

 

Stretch-in Proven Installation Methods of Installation Workshop  
  • Addresses preparation, installation and problem solving techniques – 1 day
  • CFI has prepared the CFI Proven Methods of Stretch-in Installation by which the workshop is structured

 

Woven Carpet Proven Methods of Installation Workshop  (Minimum 12)  2 days

The CFI Skills Workshop is a “working” event to introduce new techniques and tools for the installation of woven and patterned carpets and techniques to provide solutions should problems occur in the field.

Stair Upholstery Proven Installation Methods     -  1 day

CARPET INSTALLATION WORKSHOP and CERTIFICATION

Workshop Information

  • Friday evening at 5:30 until 7:30pm, the CFI Installation Review and demonstrations are presented in preparation for the hands-on involvement on Saturday at 7:30am. The test for CFI Certification is offered at 7:30pm.
  • Everyone may attend the training event, but for those seeking the R-I and C-I Certification, the written test and proof of 2-years installation experience are required.
  • At the conclusion on Saturday, installers who successfully demonstrate the requirements of the certification are awarded this designation.
  • Certification is an option for installers with a minimum of 2-years experience.
  • The Saturday skills training in small groups includes

CARPET - Patterned and Woven Carpet Workshop

Workshop Information

The CFI Skills Workshop is a “working” event to introduce new techniques and tools for the installation of patterned and woven carpets and provides solutions to problems that surface in the field. The course is recognized by all carpet manufacturers. Installers work in small groups with large sections of carpet:

  • Knowledge, skills training and identification of woven construction
  • Pattern count, tolerances, deviant pattern correction
  • Seam construction
  • Powerstretching
  • Pattern matching
